The numbers that matter
Both beaches belong to the municipality of San Teodoro and run through the same system. What separates them is capacity: Cala Brandinchi 1,447 people a day, Lu Impostu 3,352.
The price is identical: €2.00 for visitors, €1.00 for local taxpayers, registered accommodation and beach concessions, free for residents, under-12s and people with disabilities. Payment is online by card only.
The trick almost nobody uses
Cala Brandinchi is the Instagram beach — “little Tahiti” — and sells out accordingly. Lu Impostu is the same sand, the same bay, the same view of Tavolara, only wider, breezier and with more than double the capacity.
In practice: while Brandinchi goes within minutes of release in high season, Lu Impostu often still has places the same evening. If you are flexible, you will nearly always get in there.
You need the booking even arriving by sea
This is where most people get caught: without a booking, access is forbidden by land and by sea — even just passing through. Taking a boat is not a shortcut.
Day trips from San Teodoro and Porto San Paolo head for Tavolara and Molara, not the cove itself. A good alternative for the day, but not a way around the ticket.
Parking is a second, separate payment
The beach ticket does not cover parking: they are two payments. Budget for both, or you will arrive with a valid booking and nowhere to leave the car.
And one rule visitors routinely miss: dogs are banned from 08:00 to 20:00 in the summer months.
